Towson, MD., May 31, 2013 – After a competitive SGA election in April, President Charlotte Ridgeway attributed the success of her ticket to campaigning as a team. Her team begins work this week during their Executive Officer Retreat where they hope to set the vision and direction of the SGA for the upcoming school year. The Executive Board includes Charlotte Ridgeway as President, Kevin Kutner as Vice-president, Laura Martin as Treasurer, Andrew Key as Attorney General and Gayon Sampson as Chief of Staff.
The Executive Cabinet will serve as advisors to the President and will coordinate communication and events to better the campus community. Marissa Schickling will serve as the Director of Academic Affairs, John Smith as the Director of Athletic Affairs, Chad Nazworth as the Director of Campus Activities (also the Director of the Campus Activities Board), Samantha Figueroa as the Director of Civic Engagement, Joe Gros as the Director of Community Outreach, Mike Keenan as the Director of Diversity Outreach, Zac McGee as the Director of Legislative Affairs, Becky Wiacek as the Director of Student Groups and Kurt Anderson will serve as the Director of University Communications.
The Senate will comprise 4 senators that will be returning for a second term: Antonia Bongiovi, Natalie Hurley, Matt Santos and Drew Voigt and 14 newly elected senators: Steven Akers, Kyle Bamberger, Cara Brennan, Rebecca Ellison, Amanda Engel, Thomas Gleason, Nick Grabner, Katie Jacobs, Sharnice Nowlin, Paul Rivas, Taylor Sevik, Ben Vershel, Jamal Washington and Alex Wentz. In addition to 7 more, which as stated in Article 1, Section 2 of the SGA constitution, “will be appointed by the Executive Board in September.”
The Judicial Branch will be comprised of 5 members: Stephanie Chong, Aiyana Dancy, Trevor King, Mike Lamantia and David Raymond.
The Senate President Pro Tempore, Appropriations and Government Operations Chairmen and Chief Justice will be elected by the entire SGA during the annual retreat in August.
