The Treasurer’s workshop is available to provide important budgetary information for student organizations such as the budgeting process, financial operations, and important deadlines.

Step 2: Initial Budget Submission*

*This step is not mandatory but is highly recommended to prepare your student organization for the Budget Hearing.

If a group submits an initial budget, they must also sign up for an FAC Meeting.

Step 3:

Fac meeting

The Financial Advisory Committee (FAC) meetings allow you to review and make any necessary changes to your student organization budget with the assistance of your SGA Senator and Treasurer.

Step 5:

Budget hearing

The Budget Hearing is a formal review and approval of a student organization’s budget by members of the senate, Vice President and Treasurer.

Used only for the success of on-campus events. Groups can request up to $2,500.

Used only for necessary equipment for the success of on-campus affairs. Groups must use Event and Conference Services. Maximum request amount: $3,000.

Groups can request up to $1,000.

Used for all off-campus activities. Groups can request up to $2,000.

The sole responsibility of the student organization. 

Money can be spent on “Items Not Funded,” additional costs, and any other expenses the student organization may incur.

FAQ’s

"I did a fundraiser and now I need to supply tax information. Where do I go?"

Now, you may complete the W9 form here.

"Can I submit my budget over email?"

No. Budgets are only valid when they are submitted within the provided Formstack. Any budget emailed to the Treasurer and/or Senators will not count and will not be reviewed.

"Do I have to submit an initial budget or attend an FAC Meeting?"

No. Both the initial budget and FAC Meeting are additional resources. During this time, groups are given the opportunity to make any necessary changes to their organization’s budget before the final budget submission deadline. This process is highly recommended.

"Do I have to attend the Budget Hearing?"

It is highly recommended that you attend the Budget Hearing. The SGA Senate has the jurisdiction to approve or deny any budget they believe does not meet the SGA Financial Policy. Your attendance will allow for effective communication between all members.
